Holbrook is located about 18 miles south of Boston and has a population of just under 15,000 residents. The town is named for Elisha N. Holbrook, who provided the town with the funds for the town hall and library when it was incorporated in 1872. The original library was located in town hall and Zenas Aaron French served as the first librarian from the opening of the library in 1874 until 1920. The present library was built on property donated by Linda French, in memory of her father, Zenas. We are proud to serve the residents of Holbrook.
